Reading is fundamental. In fact, it is one of the most important ingredients to becoming all that you can be. Reading develops your brain, provides a window into the world around you and gives you a greater chance to succeed.

Please support your child read by hearing them at least four times a week and completing their Reading Record. Thank you!

We will be testing the children on being able to recall multiplication and division facts for the 2,5 and 10 times tables. They should be able to recall facts quickly. Please practise this at home.

Project
We would like to invite the children to take part in a termly project which they should undertake in addition to their reading and learning their spellings and maths facts.

The children should choose a minimum of one task per section or more if they wish!

Children will be awarded a certificate upon the completion of their project.

Be a writer!
Write a story set in another part of the world – linked to our English and Topic learning.
Write a set of instructions for how to make a healthy meal- linked to Science
Write a postcard from your holidays (this can be made up!)
Be a detective!
Find 5 facts about a Christian Rite of Passage – linked to our RE learning.
Find out 5 inventors and what they invented.
Find 5 facts about the oceans of the world – linked to our Topic learning.
Get creative!
Create a model of an animal – linked to our Science learning.
Create an invention that could be used in the house.
Create a model of a balanced meal- linked to Science learning.

Additional information on our learning this week

The children's PE kits will be sent home on Friday for the Easter break. Please wash and return them for the first day back of the Summer term (Monday 29th April 2019).
