NUMERACY TOPIC:
Rounding numbers to 10, 100, 1000

Reading is fundamental. In fact, it is one of the most important ingredients to becoming all that you can be. Reading develops your brain, provides a window into the world around you and gives you a greater chance to succeed.

Please support your child read by hearing them at least four times a week and completing their Reading Record. Thank you!

Project
We would like to invite the children to take part in a half termly project which they should undertake in addition to their reading and learning their spellings and maths facts.

The children should choose a minimum of one task per section or more if they wish!

Children will be awarded a certificate upon the completion of their project.

Be a writer!
Write a letter to Mr Denchfield to persuade him to let us visit a country outside of Europe.
Write about your experience of visiting another country.
Write a fact sheet about a country of your choice.
Be a detective!
Research a country of your choice which is outside of Europe.
Research an artist from a country outside of Europe.
Research a famous person from a country of your choice.
Get creative!
Create a leaflet encouraging people to visit a country of your choice outside of Europe.
Create a picture in the style of an artist from another country outside of Europe.
Create (build/draw etc.) a famous landmark in another country.

Additional information on our learning this week

The children all enjoyed their first swimming session this week when they were put into ability groups ready for their lesson next week. Thank you for managing to get them to school by 8:30. Your child has login details for Times Table Rock Stars which they should be encouraged to use several times per week. Project homework is due in school by Friday 30th November 2018 please remember your child can complete this using their school GSuite Account or SMART amp if they wish.
